Bosch holds solid dose event at New Jersey facility

Today, Bosch held the second of five planned events in 2016 for the solid dose community. The event had a focus on quality control in manufacturing of tablets and capsules. Participants had the opportunity to see an up-close demonstration of the KKX x-ray inspection machine for capsules, the CPS Track & Trace Machine, powder processing technology, capsule filling technology, and the Bosch slug testing system.

Attendees were treated to a picnic lunch in the park-like setting at the facility.

Solid dose open house at Bosch partner JH&L’s facility in Lindon Utah, August 24

August 24, 2016, Bosch will host an open house at our partner JH&L’s facility in Lindon, Utah. The event will feature several pieces of equipment demonstrating tablet and capsule manufacturing, tooling, service, and test equipment for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical manufacturers. In addition to the demonstrations, there will be a barbecue lunch served. The event starts at 10 AM on the 24th and will wrap up at 3 PM.

Two new video tech tips for GKF capsule fillers

In this first video, John demonstrates how to align the cams on your Bosch GKF capsule filler to ensure the machine is properly timed.  He also demonstrates how to verify the timing of the segment turret and dosing turret.

 

 

 

Are you having trouble rectifying capsules?  In this next video, John demonstrates how to verify the alignment of the sorting section on your Bosch GKF capsule filling machine.

Bosch Packaging Technology will once again exhibit in booth W-603 at the entrance to the West Building at Pharma Expo in Chicago, on November 6-9. Successful open house in Utah

Bosch recently held its annual open house event at our partner JH&L’s facility in Lindon, UT.  This was the largest portfolio ever displayed at JH&L, and approximately 150 customers enjoyed equipment demonstrations and a BBQ lunch cooked by the JH&L staff.  Equipment on display included the latest generation TPR 500 tablet press with Allen-Bradley controls, tablet press Tooling Inspection and Analysis System (TIAS), I Holland tooling polisher, a GKF 705 Capsylon capsule filler, a remanufactured GKF 1500 capsule filler, and the capsule slug tester.

Each year there are several new machines added to the Utah valley, and our open house is just a small token of our appreciation to the many customers we service in the area.  Thank you to all those customers that participated!

Case study: Patheon installs Bosch contained capsule filler, first in North America

Patheon, based in Durham, NC, chose Bosch’s GKF HiProTect 1700 encapsulator for use in commercial production and a Bosch GKF Protect 702 encapsulator for use by colleagues in its Product Development Services group. The HiProTect 1700, designed and built for containment, keeps operators isolated from the product while it operates and during maintenance and cleaning. It fills as many as 100,000 capsules per hour with powders or pellets and can be equipped to handle micro-tablets, liquids, and combination fills. The machine’s checkweigher adjusts capsule fill weights as it works to keep products on-spec.

Video: Automate the loading of empty capsules into your Bosch GKF capsule filler

The Nilfisk® Empty Capsule Conveyor model 9505 is designed to convey empty capsules sizes 000 – 5 at a rate in excess of the highest output Bosch capsule filler. This unique conveyor uses a blower to gently push the capsules through rigid sanitary piping without damage. The conveyor has a receiver hopper mounted via tri-clamp to the Bosch capsule filling machine capsule inlet. The receiver hopper has an integrated level sensor making this a truly “plug and play” system with no electrical connection to the Bosch capsule filler.

All capsule contact surfaces are constructed of AISI 316L stainless steel. The exterior of the machine is constructed of 304 stainless steel. The Nilfisk® 9505 uses HEPA filtration and a programmable PLC to maintain optimal operation. The vertical height adjustment is achieved by a telescoping pipe eliminating the need for different length rigid tubing. When the conveyor supply container runs low, an indicator light and/or audible alarm will alert the operator to refill the conveyor container which holds in excess of one box of capsules.

This conveyor will fully automate the loading of empty capsules into any capsule filling machine and eliminate the possibility of accidents and injuries to your operators when climbing ladders to fill the capsule filler empty capsule hopper.
